Neumos & Onset Present:

DJ MARKY
Innerground Recordings -Sao Paulo, BRAZIL

At 32, DJ Marky is considered one of the greatest DJs on the planet. Hailing from Sao Paulo, the Brazilian capital of electronic music, he was the pioneer who merged the sounds of the UK and Brazil, and his medium was Drum & Bass.
He was brought to the attention of the global Drum and Bass scene by English DJ Bryan Gee, head of V Recordings, who saw Marky playing in a club in São Paulo in 1998. Amazed by Marky’s scratch skills, he invited the DJ to play in London. This experience would result in a residency at the club Movement, a subsequent residency at The End club, work for the UK’s BBC Radio 1, and global popularity.
Having the mark of a true entertainer, DJ Marky is known worldwide for his electric stage presence, hyped enthusiasm for the dancefloor, insane turntablism skills and chart topping studio production. His label Innerground paves the way for deep and soulful drum and bas while ‘The Brazilian Job’, was one of the best selling DnB albums of its time. Even more impressive was his track ‘LK’ wich sold more than any single of the genre to date reaching #15 in the UK Top 40 Charts. This is a monumental achievement for a dance music producer and even more so for a drum and bass artist. The only artists who have come close to this feat in recent years were Tom Jobim and Sepultura.
With a deeper and more connected sense to the music and crowd as a whole, it is no wonder that DJ Marky is one the most popular and in demand DnB DJs in the world alongside an elite few such as Andy C, DJ Hype, Roni Size and Grooverider.

“Best International DnB DJ” – BBC 1Xtra Awards
“Best International DnB Artist” – Knowledge Magazine Awards

/// QUADRON BIO
Quadron is a duo whose genesis originates from the reveries of two souls destined to live their existence as a fairytale. Our story begins in Copenhagen, Denmark, where Robin Hannibal encountered Coco O. Robin was already a name within Owusu & Hannibal, and Boom Clap Bachelors. He was ready to continue his collaborations and seek out new adventures.

In the ingénue of Coco, Robin saw his muse, singing without effort, speaking in melody. Taking their time to get it right, they started playing together. A year would pass while they gently created the Quadron sound. The music was funky, naughty, soft and delicate, but complicated and natural. Robin creates melodies with lush orchestration and deep beats, intellectual and crisp. Coco layers them with her voluptuous timbre. Together completing a chapter of their fairytale soundtrack until a Quadron song is born. Only a few months has passed since Quadron’s album was first exposed to the public, but artistry of this caliber has a force all its own. When it’s good, it’s good and Quadron is that.

Quadron will be performing live on KEXP 90.3FM at Noon on Tuesday, June 15th.
