Limited Capacity - Please arrive early!

In March, critically acclaimed DJs Kid Hops (KEXP) and SunTzu Sound (KBCS) kicked off TRUST with a bang! The spot was jumping with sexy ladies, handsome dudes and plenty of good vibes.

It was definitely a family affair and we’re looking for the April edition to be even better. If you were there in March tell your people. If you slept on TRUST last month, now is your make up test. Get down there and let loose!

alright’chall! Those who packed into the spot last week already know this, but for those of you who didn’t make it out, Chicken George came to town and tore it down!

Glenn Red got the dancefloor sparked early - a perfect introduction for his first week as an official Afro Funke’ resident! J.Sole featured Dave Rallicke on saxophone over some heavy Reggae beats, then beat boxer Joshua Silverstein and the inimitable Sheila Govindarajan pick up microphones and the place goes nuts. Those who came early got the beautiful new Anane’ EP, produced by Louie Vega.

MUCH RESPECT to Sheila & Sasha and EVERYONE whom they registered to vote! This week we have another special guest DJ jetting in from Seattle, a listening party with loads of giveaways + an also recommends for the Afro Funke‘ family! Big up!

SUNTZU SOUND
(City Soul Radio, Seattle)
Inspired by the beats of West London and cities around the world, Seattle’s SunTzu Sound extends the soul of brokenbeat, bringing people together to dance with a cosmic blend of urban cultures and organic rhythms. Best known as torchbearers of the rising brokenbeat scene, SunTzu is fueled by a faithful following in the Northwest and beyond. The crew’s tireless efforts have made them an indispensable mainstay in Seattle, where they regularly book and promote top-shelf international talent and serve as the weekly hosts of Friday night’s City Soul on KBCS 91.3 FM. Between various Seattle residencies and frequent dates across the United States, the DJs of SunTzu Sound have played alongside celebrated artists such as Afrika Bambaataa, ?uestlove, Bugz in the Attic, Erykah Badu, Jazzanova, DJ Krush, King Britt, Osunlade, Rich Medina, Zero 7 and many others. cIn 2005 the SunTzu Sound imprint released its first EP to widespread praise. Featuring Black Daylight by 1Luv and Tickles by AC Lewis, the record has earned airplay on radio stations around the globe, winning considerable
attention from press and artists alike, including Afronaught, Andrew Jervis, Benji B., Domu, Mr. Scruff, Phil Asher, Rainer Trüby and a number of year-end “best of ” lists.

JAZZANOVA
“OF ALL THE THINGS”

9-10pm + giveaways!
“Our music can take listeners on a journey,” says Alexander Barck, “ if we are able to fascinate them, if we are able to get someone who doesn’t think he likes Brazilian music dance to a Brazil track and have him say ‘I’ve never heard this before, but it’s incredible, and this is now my favorite music,’ those are the beautiful moments in a production or in a DJ set.” This enthusiasm, this self- confident and carefree attitude is what you hear immediately on Jazzanova’s new, second studio album “Of All The Things.”
